As our name suggests, ConnecTra is a connecting agency. We connect people with disabilities to activities and programs that will, over time, allow them to gain confidence and become more active and involved in community life.
We connect people in three ways: with our Employment Mentorship Support Project, by hosting bi-monthly meetings and workshops, and through the provision of an online disability services resource guide. Our meetings are regular get-togethers – very social and very informal. We gather three or four presenters from key agencies, service providers, or organizations with useful information to share. It’s networking. . . and entertaining!
Come hear informative presentations at our next ConnecTra Workshop on Thursday, September 20th!
Special guest Teri Thorson from our new Speakers Bureau will be sharing motivational stories from her journey - from wheelchair racing to fashion design!
Jeanne Morton also joins us for a talk about language, stigma and how they affect engagement. She’ll introduce the new program “Me and You: Aging Without Limits” provided by the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC.
Light refreshments and amazing company included!
