Adaptive Sport Opportunities with SportAbility

June 16 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm PT

Join SportAbility from 12-1pm on June 16th to learn about accessible sports! SportAbility is dedicated to promoting participation in sport for individuals with physical disabilities across British Columbia. They envision a world where everyone can experience the joy and benefits of physical activity. They offer both recreational and competitive sport opportunities in Para Ice Hockey, Boccia, Power Soccer, and Frame Running. Whether you’re looking to play for fun or compete at a high level, SportAbility is here to support and empower athletes of all abilities! This presentation will introduce you to their adaptive sports programs, highlight the physical and social benefits of participation, and explore the different pathways available for athletes – from recreational play to competitive opportunities.

Amy is the Community engagement coordinator at SportAbility and has a strong interest in the therapeutic benefits of sport and recreation. Amy has a background in Occupational Therapy and aims to help individuals build confidence, independence, and improve their quality of life through physical activity and meaningful connections.

Please note, that this session will be closed 10 minutes after the start time to prevent disruption. Please be on time, or you can watch the recording on YouTube or Facebook afterwards.
