KidsAction Coaching: Community Physical Activity Programs Tailored For You!
May 20 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm PT

Join the Kids Health Brain Network on May 20th from 12-1 pm to learn how to help your kids excel in community physical activity programs! KidsAction Coaching is an evidence-based approach to support children with exceptionalities in community-based physical activity programs.
Their resource website offers program leaders and families online training, goal-setting resources, a physical activity bank of over 140 activities, adaptation strategies, and more! They work with programs across Canada to support inclusion, cultural safety, and tailored activities to meet each child’s needs and preferences. The project’s supporters include Kids Brain Health Network, the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, the BC Ministry of Health, and UBC. Come and learn more about what they do and how you can be involved!
Stephanie Glegg is a pediatric occupational therapist and implementation scientist. She studies the best ways to move knowledge into action to improve health care services, systems and outcomes. Therefore, her research aims to make practical changes that enhance the experiences of youth, families and health care providers. Also, she strives to support informed health care decision-making based on research, lived experience, clinical experience, and other ways of knowing and being.
Stephanie partners with youth, families, community organizations, health professionals, decision-makers and others for her work. She believes their involvement throughout the research process drives meaningful change from diverse perspectives. She is also the proud parent of a child with neurodiversity.
Please note that this session will be closed 10 minutes after the start time to prevent disruption. Please be on time, or you can watch the recording on YouTube or Facebook afterwards.
