Living Life to the Full
September 4 @ 12:00 pm – October 30 @ 1:30 pm PDT
Are you looking for mental health support? ConnecTra is listening, and we have heard you.
We have partnered with the Canadian Mental Health Association to offer Living Life to the Full, a FREE mental health course designed to help people deal with everyday life challenges and learn self-management skills. Space is limited to 25 people, so make sure to register soon to guarantee your spot!
Living Life to the Full helps you grow self-empowerment skills from the comfort of your home and connect with other members of your community. The group-based, virtual course will be delivered through 8 weekly 90 minute sessions by video conference with a trained facilitator. It will run every Friday starting September 4th and going through October 30th. The first class on September 4th will be a 30-minute introduction to the course.
Participants will learn self-management skills using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. Course content and materials are practical and can be easily applied to everyday life situations. Living Life to the Full is based on the Five Areas Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model as developed by Dr. Chris Williams – a worldwide expert in CBT. The approach teaches that all the things we experience, think, feel and do are interconnected. Just as an event, thought, feeling, behaviour or physical symptom can start a chain reaction that gets us down, we can reverse the process and use this interconnection to rebuild happiness.
Each session is led by a certified facilitator who will guide participants and support discussions to help folks practice and implement these new skills while remaining fun and interactive. Participants will get to know people facing similar challenges in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment. Anyone who wants to practice self-care and learn new tools is welcome to join!
To attend the online course, participants need to have a computer, laptop or tablet with audio. These sessions will be delivered through Zoom. The maximum number of participants is 25, so reserve your spot today!
- The course is free in both cases for BC residents (thanks to Provincial Gov funding)
- When not part of a funding, the course can cost up to $250 per participant
A pandemic is a very stressful event for individuals and communities. We should remember that this is absolutely the time to lean on each other, even if we can’t be close physically.
Lean on ConnecTra and CMHA, we are here for you.
