Perspective Series: Navigating Winter Sports with a Disability
November 20 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm PT

Don’t let the cold weather stop you from being active! Join us on November 20th from 1 – 2 PM PT for our Perspective Series: Navigating Winter Sports with a Disability, and learn how to sign up for adaptive skiing, snowboarding, and hockey.
Featuring our distinguished guests,
- Phil Mundy from Nordic Racers Ski Club: the club is a group who, for the past 10 years, have operated a Para Nordic program, providing opportunities for people with disabilities to try skiing. While most participants simply want to get outside for some winter fun and exercise, we are also looking to support people who want to get serious about skiing. The club has championed skiers who have gone on to participate competitively in the sport, including trips to the Olympic/Paralympic Games.
- Adria Flor from Whistler Adaptive: Adria is the Lead Coach and Equipment/Facilities Coordinator of Whistler Adaptive. He started volunteering with the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program in 2016 as a snowboard coach which eventually grew into the full-time role he has today. He has led many expeditions in kayaking and mountaineering, among others. He has a passion for the outdoors and loves to share it with everyone.
- Katherine Campbell from Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks:
- Marney Smithies from South Fraser Active Living Group:
