Summer Programs with the Disability Foundation and Affiliates (Re-run)
July 26 All day
Tuesdays are for ConnecTogether Replays! This week, watch a past presentation by Eric Moldendyk and Bryden Veinot on the Disability’s Foundation’s summer programs. Like this event? Sign up for some of the programs talked about in the video!
Summer is almost here! Last year, Eric and Bryden spoke all about the many summer programs offered by the Disability Foundation’s affiliated societies and how you can get involved. You’ll hear all about activities spanning from adaptive sailing at Jericho beach, TrailRider hiking at Pacific Spirit Park, adaptive paddling in False Creek, accessible music sessions with VAMS, assistive devices with Tetra, and more!
Bryden Veinot, the VAMS Program Coordinator, can almost always be found with his headphones on rocking out to new VAMS music! His love of playing guitar as a kid gave him the motivation to learn all things music, which he did when he attended Audio Engineering school in 2019/20. After graduating, he was hired by VAMS as an assistant in January 2021, and since then has been able to support many different musicians with disabilities on their own musical journey.
Eric Molendyk has been involved with the Foundation since 2001 and now works as Program Manager for Tetra, ASABC, and BCMOS. He is truly honored to work with all the staff and volunteers throughout Canada and never ceases to be in awe at their brilliance. Eric believes that adaptive programs’ help not just people with disabilities but society as a whole to re-imagine what is possible.
Please note that this live event was recorded and streamed to Facebook and YouTube, where it will remain available for our community to enjoy. Closed captioning for this event will be available on these platforms.
