Matching Wheelchair Users to Accessible Housing

June 3 @ 12:00 am 1:00 pm PT

Join Isabelle and Anna from the Right Fit program on June 3rd, from 12-1 pm, to learn about matching wheelchair users to accessible housing.

The Right Fit Program (RFP) is a multi-partner service, with a mission to connect wheelchair users in Metro Vancouver with affordable, accessible housing and the resources they require to live successfully and independently in the community.

The RFP operates on a peer-led navigation model, where navigators work with clients to support them through the application process and obtain home supports and equipment. The Right Fit Accessible Housing Coordinator works closely with housing providers, documenting the accessibility features of available units via an accessibility checklist. These features are matched to wheelchair users’ accessibility needs, aiming for the “right fit” between the client and the housing provider.

Isabelle is the Right Fit Program Manager and oversees multiple initiatives that interface accessible housing supply and demand, with a focus on strategy and innovative solutions for addressing the crisis in affordable accessible housing.
Anna is the Accessible Housing Coordinator with the Right Fit Program. She uncovers accessible housing vacancies by forming relationships with housing providers and stakeholders and learning about upcoming housing developments.

This session will be closed 10 minutes after the start time to prevent disruption. Please be on time, or you can watch the recording on YouTube or Facebook afterwards.
