- Accessible Standards Canada
Accessibility Standards Canada is a departmental corporation created in 2019 under the Accessible Canada Act (the Act). They are committed to creating accessibility standards for federally-regulated entities and federal organizations.
- BC Disability MLA
Dana Lajeunesse is the BC Parliamentary Secretary for Accessibility since November 2024.
- Canadian Transportation Agency
Persons with disabilities have a right to equal access to federal transportation services. The CTA has a mandate to protect this right. They create regulations, codes of practice and guidelines to ensure accessible transportation, such as the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (ATPDR) and the new Accessible Transportation Planning and Reporting Regulations (ATPRR). They also help resolve individual complaints about accessibility through facilitation, mediation or adjudication.
- Rick Hansen Foundation
The Rick Hansen Foundation works to create more accessible and inclusive communities for people with a spinal cord injury, and supports the search for a cure.
Their mission is to create and deliver innovative solutions that lead to a global movement to remove barriers and liberate the potential of people with disabilities through their programs and initiatives.

These are resources provided and put together by organizations that can provide information for people with disabilities looking to make travelling easier and more accessible within BC.
- Access BC
Access BC is a program of Spinal Cord Injury BC. Their team focuses on accessible outdoor recreation and tourism opportunities by facilitating universal design training, performing accessibility audits and creating accessible travel resources. Their work is guided by the principles of universal design – a concept that benefits everyone. Whether you use a mobility aid, have a visual impairment, or are simply ageing, universal design enables inclusivity and ease of access.
- Canadian National Institute for the Blind
The CNIB Foundation is a non-profit organization driven to change what it is to be blind today. Get your CNIB card which can be used as proof of disability for some government programs and tax benefits. It may also entitle you to some concessions from governments and community partners, such as free or discounted transit passes, free or discounted air, train, and bus fares for you or your sighted guide, free or discounted events and attractions admissions for you or your sighted guide and additional accessibility services from banks and other businesses.

Destination British Columbia (Destination BC) is a Provincially funded, industry-led Crown corporation that supports a strong and competitive future for BC’s tourism industry through a combination of global marketing, destination development, industry learning, cooperative community-based programs, and visitor servicing. Destination BC’s programs help to improve the visitor experience, support businesses and communities across the province, and strengthen BC’s worldwide reputation as a destination of choice. - Spinal Cord Injury BC
SCI BC helps people in British Columbia who have spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities. The organization provides peer support, rehab counseling, job help, education about sexual health and healthy relationships, a directory of recreational events, and information about accessible travel.
