British Columbia

Aquabus
Vancouver
The Aquabus’s 13 vessels make stops up and down False Creek every 15 minutes or less — so you never have to wait long for a ride. All of their routes are wheelchair accessible.

Canada
The Canadian Transportation Agency‘s (CTA) vision is for Canada’s national transportation system to be the most accessible in the world. Since 1988, the CTA has had a mandate to protect the fundamental human right of persons with disabilities to accessible transportation services. They also create regulations, codes of practice and guidelines for accessibility. Individual complaints about accessibility can be resolved through facilitation, mediation or adjudication.

Taxis/Cabs
Lower Mainland
HandyDART provides “the most responsive, professional and highest quality custom transit services to eligible users residing in the Lower Mainland.”
British Columbia
When handyDART cannot accommodate your travel needs, you can use the Taxi Saver vouchers for one-time trips. The Taxi Saver vouchers are available to permanently registered handyDART riders only. They provide a 50% subsidy towards the cost of taxi rides. You will need to have a handyPASS to use this program.
Kelowna
This taxi cab company strives to offer excellent service to all their customers. They have Wheelchair Accessible taxis and Senior Discounts as well as Airport Service. Whatever your travel requirements, Kelowna Cabs will provide a level of comfort which will meet all of your transportation needs.
British Columbia
Driving Miss Daisy offers services that improve the quality of life for seniors and those with disabilities or special needs. They provide much more than just incidental transportation from point A to B. It’s theit commitment to personal, friendly, through the door service that sets them apart and makes their clients smile.
Kamloops
People In Motion’s Para transit bus makes sure that their members with disabilities have transportation to their programs and community events. It is also available to charter for Day Destination Tours and special events.
Parking Permits
British Columbia
Since 1984, SPARC BC has managed B.C.’s Parking Permit Program for People with Disabilities. Apply for or renew your permit to use designated parking spots anywhere in B.C.
British Columbia
Disability Parking Permits allow permit holders to park in handicap parking spaces across British Columbia. People In Motion issues these permits after receiving a completed application

To ensure a safe and comfortable sailing for all passengers, BC Ferries provides a variety of accessibility options including discounts for passengers with a BC Ferries Accessible Fare Identification (AFI) card or a CNIB card.
