Ryan’s counselling approach is derived from his Master of Counselling studies, his lived experience of having a chronic illness and (dis)ability activism. He uses narrative, integrative, strength-based, person-centred, solution-focused and (Dis)ability Justice approaches to counselling. He specializes in physical (dis)ability and physical illnesses counselling.
Kate is a queer, disabled artist, community activist and educator. Their work focuses on the impacts of ableism and oppression on mental health. Kate is currently a disability affirming mental health counsellor and facilitates workshops on a variety of topics.
Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. With more than 20 years experience working in the health care field coupled with her own experience living with chronic health conditions.
BCACC British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors
Has a database for looking up counsellors in your area of BC. The BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is the largest professional association for clinical counsellors and psychotherapists in BC. Their members carry the designation Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). This designation demonstrates that their members have met specific educational and training criteria required by the BCACC.

Jeffrey Preston (disability justice educator)
Born with a rare neuromuscular myopathy, Jeff has spent his life dedicated to advocating for himself and others with disabilities. With a PhD in Media Studies from Western University, Jeff’s research focuses on the representation of disability in popular and digital culture. Jeff is currently an Associate Professor of Disability Studies at King’s University College @ Western University in London, ON.
