Accessible Community Forum: Arts and Culture

April 4 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm PDT

Are you able to access the arts and culture programming you want? Join us at Creekside Community Recreation Centre on April 4th, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM PT for our Accessible Community Forum on Accessible Arts and Culture!

If you would like to have your voice heard, please fill out our survey on this topic to help inform our panelists and guide the discussion.

This forum will address the accessibility and inclusivity within arts and culture in British Columbia. We will discuss important topics such as improving accessibility within arts venues, fostering representation of artists with disabilities, and different opportunities to create accessibility in the community.
We’ll highlight organizations and individuals pioneering efforts to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in art and culture programming in BC.

The panelists for the coming Accessible Community Forum include:

  • HOST: James Sanders, Founding Artistic Director of Realwheels
  • Monique Nelson, Director of Community Engagement at posAbilities
  • Keiko Honda, Founder of the Vancouver Arts Colloquium Society
  • Ashley Daniel Foot, Vancouver Opera’s Director of Engagement and Civic Practice
  • Amy Amantea, Artist, Actor and Advocate for Persons with Disabilities

Presented by the Disability Foundation and hosted by the ConnecTra Society, this next ACF aims to cultivate a conversation between various organizations and our community of people living with disabilities around accessible arts and culture in British Columbia.
