Back to ConnecTra programming is Exploring Memoir with Emily Gillespie! Join us on Tuesdays from 4 – 5 PM PT!

This 12 week class is for people who are serious about writing a memoir. We will explore topics to write about, structure for writing short essays, as well as book length works. This class will include weekly check-ins and support from classmates and the instructor. The last two sessions we will cover professional skills, including editing and publishing.

Ready to explore your voice and think about how to get your story out there? Join this class! Note, you can already have a work in progress, or can come with your own ideas! *To get the most out of this course, we recommend you attend all 12 classes. If you are unable to participate in all 12, you are still welcome to drop in when you can.

Emily Gillespie (she/they) is a mad and autistic author, disability activist, and professional daydreamer. Gillespie has a BA in Gender Equality and Social Justice, an MA in Critical Disability Studies and a certificate in Creative Writing. Their writing explores themes of memory, identity and mental health journeys. Emily enjoys working in community spaces and examining individual and collective experiences. In her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, walking, dancing, swimming and people-watching in cafes throughout Toronto.
