Make Music Accessible: All Abilities Playing and Production
February 3 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm PT
Come join VAMS on February 3rd from 12-1pm to find out about their journey of music! MS Senior Program Coordinator and Producer/Engineer, Bryden, will go through the different adaptive instruments that VAMS uses at their studio, how to request an instrument adaption or modification through The Tetra Society, and then an interactive digital music production lesson where Bryden will make a song using only two fingers and a laptop.
With today’s technologies, musicians are able to access and create music in so many innovative ways. We can adapt instruments and music workstations to fit an individual’s abilities with the help of organizations like The Tetra Society of North America and The Vancouver Adapted Music Society, as well as utilize new software that can bypass various barriers. Music production is now at a point where being able to play an instrument is not a requirement, just a computer and an idea is all that’s needed.
Please note, this session will be closed 10 minutes after the start time to prevent disruption. Please be on time, or you can watch the recording on YouTube or Facebook afterwards.
